Silicon Communication System Customised fitting with silicone is at the basis of Silicon House. Until recently, this necessitated a visit to Otto Bock. With the Silicon Communication System, however, a new era was launched. Orthopaedic technicians can now independently carry out all preparations for fittings. Preparations include colour determination (the basis for the customised colour design of the epithesis, i.e. prosthesis) as well as impression taking and documentation. Thanks to the Silicon Communication System, orthopaedic technicians at medical supply stores can communicate on common terms with Otto Bock technicians. The skin tones of users are determined in a first step using the 119-colour swatch for silicones. The selected colour is then communicated and transmitted using its code.   Otto Bock technicians then apply the data of the patient's colour determination and impression-taking to finalise and colour finish the epithesis, i.e. prosthesis.
