Начало > Протези и ортези > Протези за долен грайник > Стъпала > Delta Twist Shock Absorber Delta Twist Shock Absorber The DeltaTwist®shock absorber consists of two sections, the inner and the outer part, which rotate and move along the longitudinal axis independently from each other. Elastomer bars are used for the axial dampening function and a pair of elastomer plates is used for the torsional function (rotation). This allows to set the inner rotation "softer" than the outer rotation. The amputee enjoys the advantages of an "elastic" inner rotation, without having to forgo a "stiffer" outer rotation at toe-off. The movement pattern thereby becomes more symmetrical and requires less compensatory movements. The relief of the residual limb and locomotor system through torsional moments in the transversal plane complements the shock absorbing effect of the Delta Twist®.   Indications for the DeltaTwist®: - Unnatural, asymmetrical gait pattern in terms of the rotation in transversal plane (around the body’s longitudinal axis) - Overload of the socket and locomotor system due to impact load and shearing forces - Unusual sensitivity to impact loads, e.g. edema on residual limb - Lack of torsional compliance of the transfemoral prosthesis, also in conjunction with knee joints with stance phase dampening - Pronounced dynamic gait patterns - Frequent torsional loads (rotational movements) at work and during leisure activities - Rotational instabilities Included in delivery: - Shock absorber - Elastomer components for adjustment of axial and torsional functions to the patient's needs as well as setup tools. The torsional function of the inner or outer rotation can be optionally suppressed with the rotation locking plate (accessory).
