However the internal changes are equally important.Further development has led to improved and higher function: The new pneumatic unit makes the prosthetic knee joint even more efficient and controls swing phase with enormous ease. Wear resistance, user friendliness, adaptation possibilities and weight limit have also been optimized.Proven safety and the wide flexion angle, however, have remained unchanged. For this reason – Reacquaint yourselves with the 3R106! New high performance dual chamber pneumatic unit - clearly noticeable increase of efficiency - therefore applicable for a larger range of walking speeds - new swing phase dampening properties with particularly easy introduction of swing phase and a harmonious extension stop for a natural gait with less energy consumption. Flexion and extension damping can be adjusted separately and individually. To reduce the force of the extension assist, the extension assist spring can simply be replaced by a weaker one that is additionally included in the delivery. Safety and Advantages In the extended position the instantaneous center of rotation is clearly located above the joint and behind the load line (Fig. 1). Therefore, the modern polycentric structure reliably stabilizes the knee joint during stance phase and provides for increased floor clearance during swing phase – thus enhancing the user’s confidence in the prosthesis as a whole. Moreover, the wide flexion angle of 170° and low weight provide for high comfort, for example when bicycling, climbing into a car, when kneeling or sitting (Fig. 2). Connection Possibilities Four modular connection possibilities – identical to those of the new 3R60 EBS Knee Joint – allow for an uncomplicated fitting of all amputation levels (Fig. 4): Pyramid connection, lamination anchor, screw top (threaded fitting) for long residual limbs and an angled pryramid connection for hip disarticulation fittings.
