The C-Leg® is the first electronically controlled hydraulic stance and swing phase leg prosthesis system.     What advantages does the C-Leg® offer? The C-Leg® leg prosthesis system allows users to permanently control the movement of their prosthesis. This means greatest possible safety for all situations in daily life. Amputees are effectively relieved, as they have to concentrate much less on their prosthesis. Thanks to the permanently ensured stance phase stability, the risk of falling is also significantly reduced. Walking at different speeds is possible at any point in time. In addition, due to the natural gait, the healthy side is also effectively relieved. For stance phase stability and swing phase control, electronic sensors collect data 50 times per second such that the knee knows the exact phase of the step at all times. The C-Leg® can thus adapt to any phase of the gait. This not only enables users to walk on uneven ground, it also allows them to easily climb and descend inclinations and stairs. Whether a stroll or a brisk walk, the C-Leg® adapts to the gait in real-time. Highest possible safety is provided even when tripping.
